Seve has created a spectacular par 72 golf course consisting of 6 par three, 6 par four and 6 par five holes but you never play two holes consecutively with the same par. The course has five large lakes that enter in play on twelve of the eighteen holes and on some more than once. The terrain has been made more interesting with the moulding of slight humps and hollows and some sixty bunkers are spread around the course, these are filled up with white loose grain sand that has a uniform texture that permits the golfer to play without surprises. All of these characteristics help to enjoy the challenge of playing the course which the majority of players find to be a fair test that requires a good playing strategy to avoid disasters on the card.

The course has another interesting feature on the 14th hole; to reach the green, the shot is played over the ruins of the ‘Villa Ferrer’, a Roman country house from 1 BC that was discovered during course construction. In 2004 they started a programme of remodelling the greens to better not only the design, but also to change to a more suitable type of grass. These reformations also include, changes to and up-grading of the irrigation system, the general drainage, moulding and shaping to the greens and bunkers, this programme was completed in 2009.
