Santa Ponsa Golf I - Santa Ponsa, Mallorca

Golf Santa Ponsa I is a 6,543 m, par 72 course which was inaugurated in January 1977. The 10th hole is one of the longest in Europe at 560m from the yellow tees!! Designed by Folco Nardi with assistance from Pepe Gancedo, Golf Santa Ponsa I covers an area of 73 hectares. It is a long, wide course with many indigenous trees and vegetation, water hazards and bunkers.

The long dog-leg 16th seems never ending as you encounter one hazard after another but haveing a good round at Santa Ponsa is a fantastic feeling. The course is set amongst a large golf urbanisation and the properties around the course are much sought after residences.

Santa Ponsa is a long, wide open course with hazards and obstacles that make a round here very enjoyable. It has hosted the Baleric Open for the past 6 years, with the continued participation of the worlds best players.

Santa Ponsa Consists of 3 Golf Courses but Santa Ponsa II and III are only open to residents or shareholders. The resort is well known for the par-3 18th on the Santa Ponsa II course, containing an island green in the shape of Mallorca. It's a stunning hole and a joy to play.

Directions

At the roundabout leaving the airport grounds, take the 1st exit onto the Ma-19 Autovía de Levante heading west towards Palma. Continue west along the Ma-19 Autovía de Levante heading west towards Palma taking exit 3 the Ma-20 Circunvalación de Palma. Continue along the Ma-20 Circunvalación de Palma to merge with the Ma-1 Carretera de Palma - Palmanova. Continue west along the Ma-1 Carretera de Palma - Palmanova and at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Avenida del Rey Jaume I. Continue along the Avenida del Rey Jaume I to arrive at Santa Ponsa resort centre.
